Death cap is extremely toxic for dogs
Amanita phalloides
The death cap is found in European deciduous forests and is very poisonous. Its cap can be up to approx. 17 cm in diameter and is rarely white, rather greenish, olive-brown, green-grey or yellow-green. In young mushrooms, the cap is surrounded by a white sheath that later opens up. The style as well as the lamellae are white to yellowish.
All parts of the death cap are very poisonous to dogs. The toxicity remains even after cooking or drying.
Dogs are extremely sensitive to the poison of the death cap and can die from liver or kidney failure or from blood clotting disorders after approx. 1-2 days.

To alleviate the symptoms, the vet can give infusions or administer antidotes. He will also give antispasmodic medication.
