Destroying angel is extremely toxic for dogs
Amanita virosa 
The destroying angel has an egg-shaped white cap that can be up to 15 cm in diameter. It is mainly found in European deciduous forests (under oaks, chestnuts) and only rarely in coniferous forests. However, this fungus can also be found in the Alps. The lamellae as well as the stem are whitish.

Symptoms
Dogs are extremely sensitive to the toxin of the destroying angel and can die from liver or kidney failure or from a blood clotting disorder after approx. 1-2 days.
The following symptoms occur in case of poisoning with the destroying angel:
- nausea
- vomiting
- colic
- watery diarrhoea
- severe fluid loss
As te poisoning progresses, there may be an apparent improvement and then the following further symptoms:
- yellowing of the mucous membranes
- bleeding
- depression
- coma
- reduced or completely impaired urine output
- death from liver or kidney failure or from a blood clotting disorder
Treatment
In the case of poisoning, the vet will always try to remove the poison from the body and reduce the specific symptoms of poisoning. There are different methods to remove the poison from the body, one of which is the administration of activated charcoal, which binds the poison in the stomach. This should be done within 2 hours of ingesting the toxin, if possible, to prevent it from entering the bloodstream. The administration of activated charcoal can be combined with a laxative. Various medications can also be used to induce vomiting to get the poison out of the body. To relieve the symptoms, the vet can give infusions or administer antidotes. He will also give antispasmodic medication.
